Wind Flow

For some sites it is worthwhile commissioning a full wind flow study. We use WindFarm to perform the wind flow analysis and the results predict the speed up (or slow down) factors for wind speed relative to the anemometry mast. The analysis takes into account the topographic effect of hills and valleys (orographic) on the wind speed. However, in many cases the dominant slow down factors are due to obstacles such as trees or buildings which are accounted for in the standard analysis.

The analysis requires full 3D data of your site and for most sites the cost of this data and time to perform the analysis is not warranted. Prices for this study are available on our services page.
