Heidra uses trenched anchors, drive-in anchors or rock pins depending on soil conditions and the type of mast. In all cases the ground anchors are load tested in-situ using calibrated digital load cells
Our small mast installations generally use high performance drive-in ground anchors. The anchors can be rapidly and reliably driven into most ground types to give the necessary holding strength with minimal environmental impact.
Four ground anchors are required to secure the eight guys supporting our small aluminium met mast. The ground anchors used are generally of the duckbill type, which are driven into the ground using either a manual drive rod or a breaker.
Alternatively, depending on soil conditions, helical screw-in anchors or rock pins may be used.
Whichever anchor type is used, they are individually load tested after installation with a calibrated load cell to ensure that they meet the British Standard requirements.
For high mast installations we dig-in railway sleepers with a galvanised solid steel load pin for guy connection.
