Communities
220 windfarms are currently in the planning system, the total capacity (>2GW) approaches the size of an average nuclear power station. These are projects ready to go and could be up in 3-4 years. The main stalling point is members of the local community, supported by national organisations such as the renewable energy foundation, who oppose the development of wind turbines. Heidra believes that local communities, by dispelling the myths of these national organisations, can provide an efficient route through the the planning process.
In order to aid this process Heidra is developing community pages defining a road map of how to develop a site. Heidra aims to provide the technical assistance required in order to gain planning permission. We hope to have these pages ready in the next few weeks.
